Welcome friends!
The election has come and gone.. What a week!
I wanted to thank everyone who came out to support me this year!
I would also like to thank my fellow candidate, Kathy Staub for her guidance and patience.
Kathy will be returning for her second term as our Representative, and has been doing wonderful work for us.
I am VERY happy that she won. Her kindness, wisdom and experience are very much needed!
Please give Kathy your support and encouragement in this upcoming, challenging year at the State House.
Myself... even though I came in third, it was a pretty close third. :)
I feel incredibly blessed to have recieved your support, and I hope that others like me, will take heart knowing
that if we work hard, and continue being our best selves, we can hold our heads high.
It's not just a goofy slogan, I truely believe that together we WILL "Make America Groovy Again!"
A little about me...
I live in Manchester with my Partner, her Son, and three cats (Misty, Fig and Radish)
I am a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Manchester. A central principle of our faith is "The inherent worth and dignity of all people"
Like most citizen legislators of New Hampshire, I am not well versed in, or particularly good at, the dark arts of politics. We all have regular jobs, interests and passions.
I am approaching this section with good spirits and humor. I have read through almost 1000 house and Senate bills from last year... a sense of humor is greatly needed.
What I do with my time:
My paying gig...
I have worked with the overnight crew at a local, un-named retailer for the past two years. (you will never guess which!)
Most people think retail is horrible, but
it was honestly been a wonderful experience. It is hard work, and has really improved my health and fitness.
And I very much enjoy my interactions with our customers of all backgrounds and walks of life, that represent I feel,
a really great cross-section of the people of New Hampshire, whom I would be representing in State Govenment.
I am also, honestly proud and privileged to work with some of the best and hardest-working people on the planet!
What happens after the store closes.
We are getting wild and pursuing strange kicks
...that the squares will never know.
Interests...
I am a proud member of
The Planetary Society
the most influential non-profit group that lobbies congress to promote space exploration and science education.
I have been a lifelong science enthusiast.
I can say with all honesty, that Commander Data talked me into joining. I have always been a huge Star Trek fan, and he is very persuasive in the Planetary Society ads. :)
Why is this relevant?
Because I believe in science, reason, and also that despite all the pessimism... we have a very bright and hopeful future ahead of us.
New Hampshire has always been a leader in innovation, and we have a big role to play in helping solve humanity's problems,
and creating a better world!
My real job and passion...
GroovyVerse!
My tech start-up that I started 7 years ago, turned into a labor of love.
GroovyVerse is a 3D virtual world that has blossomed into a wonderful online community
where hundreds of everyday people, from all over the world can socialize and work together to build
a beautiful world.
It is locally hosted right here in Manchester, on 5 datacenter-class servers! I function as server administrator and 3D content creator.
Our residents include artists, writers, musicians and just everyday people creating beautiful stuff!
Our main demographic is people over 50, and many are retired or disabled, and this has become a wonderful resource for people who might otherwise be lonely or isolated.
This may seem a goofy "hobby", and we may be a bunch of hippie artists and slackers... But we are scalable and enterprise-class hippie artists and slackers!
Armed to the teeth with state of the art technology! We don't mess around. :)
